Exactly...kind of like buying a Hyundai. They are supposed to be real decent cars now, but remember when they first came out. YUCK!

Biggest surprise of my life. Bought one intending to run it into the ground for commuting, the darn thing won't quit on me (130k), runs like a top, and is comfortable to boot. I did not pay enough to get a car this good.

V&H definitely if those are the only choices. I had the longshots for quite a while and really liked them.

I work in the service department of a dealer group who sells all brands of GM, Mazda & Hyundai. Being a service writer, I see which cars come in the most and for what problems. I had been a GM man for years; owning Chevrolet trucks & a Pontiac car. When we aquired Hyundai in '05, I watched for a few years, but didn't see many coming in for major repairs (at least compared to the GMs & Mazdas) so my choice was clear when I needed a new car. I chose a 2007 Hyundai Sonata & am glad that I did. If you look into our shop, 85% of the cars in here (& 99% with major repairs) are GMs & Mazdas. My wife is a die-hard Honda fan & drives an '02 Accord coupe, but when we travel, she wants to take my Hyundai because it's bigger, rides much better & gets better fuel mileage (she won't ride on the Roadie!).
