You might try a little compressed air thru it. But like jvcexc said the glue is not very good and you might blow it apart I chucked mine 4 yrs ago for a K&N. My stock filter fell apart after a soaking ride in the rain. If your going with the spectre in the spring I'd just try a newpaper one first. You can always keep it around for a spare. Oop's ya beat me too it
