I apologise if I hurt anyones feelings with this, ya'll weren't there, you didn't ruin a fun time and act poorly towards a good friend of mine.

I've seen dealership dressed folks hanging around 'Biker Theme Bars' bragging about manufacturer and dyno specs, they bore me, screw colportage bikers.


I have issues with dyno spec kings because of a handful of clueless types (couldn't show you where the oil goes) that came into our area at a largeish motorcycle event, fresh off the dyno trailer, bragging and waving printouts and after refusing to quiet down and refusing a challenge to 'put up or shut up' race, continued to scoff at my friends latest home made marvel of speed and irritating everyone waving their dyno specs for their low mileage shiny big dogs, kendal j's etc...


Like I said, it wasn't you guys, I'm sorry for lashing out, there is nothing like a dyno for fine tuning a bike and no hi-way race can show the exact numbers in as much precision and detail.

And there isn't a damned thing wrong with someone that doesn't want to run out and punch speed envelopes.
As long as they don't demand attention for glory that belongs to the fastest, not the best specs.

After almost forty years since my first trail bike and as my near death experiences accumulate, I'm also begining to see a lot more wisdom in Tusler's words. And it would be nice to see my grandkids grow up. Riding at moderate speeds another xx years just might end up winning out over pulling out in front of my buddies on the long stretch tomorrow, or maybe the day after ...
