Consumer rule no 1

You get what ya pay for

Still playin with bulbs....

Any way ...received my 7507 Xenon Super white bulbs...from autolumination
@2.49 each... you bet it was a good deal???

Put the damn thing in and twisted the glass right outta the socket reminded me of the el cheapo 1157 bulbs from Taiwan we would sell for .29 ea

Ok the 1156 piaa xtreme white from Kuryakyn 14.99 ea...

Rip off or just a better quality bulb???

Put back in my filed 1156 clear bulb...it is bright enough anyway

BTW the 7507 is stamped 32cp(candle power) same as an 1156 bulb

CP has always been in my books a rating of brightness....so where are they getting super white as bein any brighter??

So again if ya figure yer saving by buyin cheap forget it...
I still believe in Quality
And yer gonna pay for it

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2007/04/17 10:37

The glass is poorly bonded to the socket in the cheaper bulbs...and I put no more twist on the glass than what is normal...like i said it happens with the cheaper imported bulbs i.ve sold lots of both

But yer right if i never turned it in ..it would never have broken..

The cheaper bulbs dont usually last nearly as long either I KNOW this and yet I wasted my time on cheap...but then maybe changing bulbs
can be a fulfilling pastime for some

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2007/04/17 11:37

I try to keep my riding/driving in the dark to a minimum. The amount of BIG wildlife around here is just too risky in the dark. I am still using stock bulbs in the Roadie, and always keep spares in the saddlebags for "emergencies."
The gimmick "Miracle White Xenon" cheap bulbs only have some Mickey-Mouse coating on the glass surface to make you think they're that much better.
(I do like the "SilverStar" brand of bulbs in my car, though.)

They work just as well in the Roadie.

StarMyram

You tweaked my curiosity....

Since I had ordered 3 7507 xenon super whites and they ARE tinted blue glass I tried another one.... and it didnt twist apart this time

However with my 1156 clear filed on the left with red signal lens and the 7507 super white on the right with the red lense

The 1156 clear WAS BRIGHTER and noticably so....

with the red lens off there was a bluish white color to the light of the 7507 xenon super whites....

They are both rated 32 cp but the 7507 super white with the red lens is definitely NOT as bright...

Conclusion....IF you go with the RTB controller with which I am extremely pleased ....

RED lense and 1156 clear bulb filed (or 7507 clear bulb)....or clear lens with 1156 red bulb filed (or 7507 red bulb)

So there is all yer marketing hype in a nutshell

coug

Its is EASY ...NO wire splicin at all..5 sec install

It is Plug and Play --order the one for yer bike...Just remove yer seat...unplug the rear wiring harness connecters...and plug in the controller it fits nicely where the tool pouch is...and I simply put my tool pouch in my saddle bag..then deal with yer lense situation...

Nice bright and works as claimed..comes with a removable flasher tab that flashes the brake lights including yer taillight 3 times when you hit the brakes then steady on..it is removable if you dont
want this feature...I didnt... because I have the little pulsating brake LED pods and for me that was enough
order an extra 4810 load equalizer...it comes with one but I think yer gonna need two with yer bike...they just plug into plugs on the Controller

If yer bike is 04-up road star 1700 you order KY-4612

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2007/04/19 06:43

Coug--

I have the OEM Yami driving lights, but in retrospect I think I'd go with the Baron's. I like the look, the lamps come pre-mounted (as opposed to the Yami set, where you get to fish lines that go through the support tubes. And as far as I can tell, the Yami lights are not terribly adjustable (if at all) as far as angle goes...they are aimed higher than myu high beam, and it's even set correctly! Don't know if the Baron's set is angle-adjustable, but they get my vote. Just my two cents worth..
