Window extensions? 5 Years, 1 Month ago
Hey Guys,
I have a 2005 Silverado with stock window. I was looking into getting Buck's Lowers for it.
I would also like to find some extensions for the "upper" portion of the bike to widen the window a bit to keep my hands cleaner and warmer while they're on the handgrips.
Anyone got any advice or info on available parts that will work in conjunction with Bucks lowers, and my OEM window?
Thanks! -StarMyram

Thanks Musky. Sccootworks has quite a site there.
I noted to the wife that Scootworks offers "PET CARRIERS" (portable doggie houses for use on motorcycles).
Anyways, the Wife told me I had better buy one for the bike, because if I buy any more goodies for the bike, I'm goona need A DOGHOUSE!

I think I'll just order a set of those Lowers from Buck for now, and see how they perform. Maybe I won't need the "upper" parts just yet as the lowers may do the trick. I'll get the hand deflectors if need be.
I was advised by a guy that no company makes window extensions for the Roadstar because of possible problems with affecting handling and steering of the bike from the extra wind pressure that far out from the triple clamps. I'm not sure, but this may be true?

I've got a set of windshield wings that I bought 3 years ago for my V-Star. They were made by a man in Canada, and he had them listed on Ebay. I think they cost $45 and I really love them.
They measure about 6 inches wide and probably 10 to 12 inches top to bottom. On the V-Star they had a bracket that just slipped onto the windshield. After about a year, they got loose and would slip off in cold weather. I dug them out this year and put them on the roadstar, but this time I bolted them on. Wish I had the man's name, but they certainly would not be hard to make.
As to handling and stress on the windshield, I haven't had a problem and this is the second bike they've been on. Today I rode into a 35 mph headwind, and a while back I rode 120 miles with a side wind of 45 mph.
My sig pic was taken before I put them on the roadie, but I'm about ready to post pics of my new dog crate I am installing and those pics will also show the wings.

I think some company called Concours made wings. Haven't heard of them for a few years. If I remember right they looked kinda bulky. Don't remember if they made them for different models of bikes either. That was a lot of help wasn't it?
