You were very clear about what you need. That is what these guys are offering you. You will find that people around here are very helpful and giving. You won't find a better group anywhere.

I'm offering the whole housing. It has the filter and everything. I will even include the bolts to mount it to the engine. To my knowledge you will need nothing else. You just need to cover the shipping.

I have never seen such kindness and the will to help anywhere, thanks guys

As much as I appreciate the offer,I have to ask this: so what is the worst it could happen if I do just install this on my bike?

Will it not run? remember that it is already jetted to that spike air filter that it had, I am the stupidest person when it comes to wrenches so I just want to know if it will work or not

The main reason I want this is that I want to be able to ride even if it rains, my friend has told me that with the spike air filter if it rain and he left the bike unattended it will not start or if he was riding it will stop, will this happen with the OEM air filter?

How about this filter is this better than the OEM one : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-ROADSTAR-1600-00-03-RIZOMA-AIR-FILTER-INTAKE-KIT_W0QQitemZ350270660082QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item518dc21df2

Like I said all I want to do is install and ride, and not worry if its raining or if its a sunny day

And what about this filter can I use this rain or shine : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-RoadStar-1600-1700-Spike-Air-Cleaner-Intake_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5d2762fe16QQitemZ400092757526QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Jesse,
It sounds like you're handy enough with a screwdriver. That's about as handy as you need to be for jetting your bike back to stock. I am very stunad when it comes to working around engines and it turned out to be way easier than I had thought. The hardest part of that job (drilling out the brass cap) is already done for you. The entire rest of the job is easy. Just go slow and follow the directions in the tech section.

Hey guys whaasup . . . if JesseLopez does not go for this air filter offering , can I take that ??

As some of you guys know I ride 365 days a year , as I do not have a car , but when it rains because of my air filter (see my signature or profile) I can not ride for to long as my bike stops , and if I get to a place and I leave my filter with out something to cover it , if I go ahead and try to start my Salma (that is how I call my bike) it will not start

Will this filter fix that ?? or is anything I can do to keep on riding even if it rains ??

Any K&N filter that is exposed needs the rain coat for it inorder to ride in the rain. I just purchased a new K&N for my 02 Roadstar and I made sure I purchased the rain coat for it.

Hey LOKO, I have a stock air box you can have. Has the stock filter inside, maybe 3000 miles on it. ˇFeliz Navidad!
