Uh, yeah...you could do that...

But look at it this way--you'd be cutting off a piece of the white parts, effectively making your bike slower. Would you have to rejet for that?

Doc

I think it is the clear lense with the colored leds that is the problem here...

Any hoo..im ok now with the red sig lights doing triple duty...

but they do sell red spray paint for glass at the craft stores...

Just how difficult is it to remove the rear tailight???

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2007/04/22 13:50

In what way.

I've used red with red lens but not red with clear. Red in red are not as intense are white in red (straight on). The lens is just used to diffract the light as the LEDs have narrow angle of view.

I think it's the clear lens. Are we splitting hairs, talking the same thing.

If I remember I'm going to hop over to Princess Auto and see if the have any clear tail lights and test one out.

the running lights are ON

there was no little gremlin paintin the tailight white...

Do I have to put you on a train and bring ya down here???

it is the colored leds that get washed out in the daylight....

The same with my side reflectors they are white with amber leds...

they do become a little more visible if ya crouch down..but who is travelin behind you one foot off the pavement???

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2007/04/22 14:07

Yes

Do I have to put you on a train and bring ya down here???

I think the natives have blockaded the train.

it is the colored leds that get washed out in the daylight....

I understood that but I'm saying it's the white lens. If the LEDs were behind a red lens you may not have that problem. I don't have the same problem with my red lens but I don't know the rating of my LED vs yours.

The same with my side reflectors they are white with amber leds...

Your side reflectors are LEDs? or are you talking about your rear turn signal lights.

see them over the holes on my windshield mount???

.... not from the rear I can't.

doc just took another pic of the rear crouched down and the sun is lower and the tailight is more visible

much better

yes i guess you missed my previous posts....I put two clear amber led marker lights and wired them to my front signals with resistor diodes..and they do double duty as running lights and turn signals

they alternate with the front turn signals cool..

you can see them in my sig pic...

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2007/04/22 14:37

Here is the led marker lights...

They are on..as is the front sig running lights...

The lower amber reflectors are more visible

It is a problem with clear lens... colored LEDs for sure in the day light...

So ya see why I am not a fan of clear lenses with colored leds or bulbs

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2007/04/22 15:09
