throttle cable broke today 2 Years, 3 Months ago

since I have a new front tire and it was decent weather thought i would go for a ride,....well throttle cable busted,...so i used the return cable at the carb (reversed the cable ends on the carb) to get it home....talk about wierd and scary at the same time twisting the throttle forward to gas it. wow! does anyone know of another company that makes cables besides barnette,...Ive gone through one clutch cable...and now this throttle cable all in 6 months.....Im not happy with barnette....at all.....and I have to have 10 over cables made everytime it happens it sucks...can anyone refer a good company?????

www.nopork.com uses Barons and I think they have a 10" or 11" over set on there.

Wow, I'm about to buy cables and this concerns me. Anybody else got anything to say, good or bad, about Barnette? I was planning to go through Clifford.

Im just stating whats happend with my cables...I have had bad luck with barnette.... they were properly installed and greased....clutch cable snapped after 4 months,...now my throttle cable snaps 2 months later....seems to be a pattern here. I didnt think an extra set of cables was needed in my tool pouch. lemme tell ya if I had done some distance and was stuck in bum fu!@ egypt,....Barnette probably wouldve gotton a call from me. I'm calm now.....but its no fun going through something as simple yet difficult as this.

It may have something to do with your routing and them being so long where do they tend to brake?

What do you think about it all Clifford? Have you heard complaints about the Barnette cables failing? Are motion pro more expensive? What do you use personally?
