WHY does this always happen 2 Years, 3 Months ago

im taking a little breather after a very frustrating hour. Im taking my rotors off to get them polished and so i borrowed a guys jack, and i took the front wheel off....pretty uneventful.
Then i take the first rotor off, and the bolts are TIGHT like they are cemented in. But i got the first one off without incident. Well i go to take the first bolt off the rotor on the other side and the bolt strips like one of the chicks down by the airport....dammit. then i got the next one off....and then i go stripping again. These things are of so tight it is just cutting through the factory bolts like nothin.
so 3 stripped bolts on front right rotor....not a happy camper. So I go to take the back wheel off and the axle covers were a pain in the butt to get off, and then I just barely dont have a big enough wrench for the right side of the wheel. My biggest wrench only fits the left side. This is my first time taking the wheels off a motorcycle...am I doing something dumb?
so...im taking a time out to get my wits back...

I don't have any tips other that these two... The original equipment tool pouch should have the wrench you need for the back wheel (if you have the tool kit). AND I got a $5 butane torch at Harbor Freight to warm up the bolts on my floorboards when I extended them... it worked wonders for loosening up the factory threadlock. If you can't get a butane torch, try spraying the bolts down with WD-40 and let them soak overnight.
Come back to it tomorrow and try it with a fresh perspective.
Good Luck!

I tried to pull one of my front rotors, stripped one bolt and quit! I think some one commented the other day about that 4'10" Japanese fella with a paint brush and a 5 gal bucket of thread lock!
The torch is a good idea but be real careful not to heat the rotor alot, don't want to warp it!

went through the same thing on my caliper bolts...stripped um all had to get a bolt out kit for the rear caliper bolts...thank god it worked. As I go through fixing and doing maintanence I replace each bolt with a new one...my bike is a 99 so it needs it.

Throb, are the centers of the rotors painted stainless or are you polishing the outside ring?
