ya one thing that was nice with the hoppe, direct fit. but lacks good speakers.

I went with Polk Db series in a HD fairing, 5.25 on the ends, 4" in center where normally speedo and tach go, and not a bad price, and marine certified, previously had Cerwin vega on ends and jensen for centers, these polk blow them away. got them when they were 25% off at circuit city before they went belly up

any pics? seems like 5 1/4" would make it look hacked up cause of the extrusions is same dia as speaker with no room for larger unless it over hung

Ok, now I'm just F'n PISSED!

Went to mount the fairing this afternoon, and in the process realized Dragonfly obviously trimmed my inner fairing for a different bike. There's a HUGE hole cut out of the bottom that doesn't need to be, and the only thing that makes sense is that it's there to clear a handlebar mounted speedometer or something.

You tell me, does this look like shyte or what?

Sent the photo's to Dragonfly asking them WTF, so we'll see what they have to say. The downside is that I've now had to postpone getting my paint done as this is going to take some time to fix, whether they have to send me a new fairing or if I have to fix their screw up myself by patching it.

Just once I'd like to order something and have it be right and fit right the first time. Is that asking too much? I'm really starting to think I'm cursed or something (that or my bike is).

Please let us know how it turns out working with them. I was ready to pull the trigger on a painted fairing from them. I don't want to have these problems with two grand invested!

Well, I finally talked to Dragonfly about my fairing today (had to call them as they still hadn't responded to the email I sent out on Friday).

Good news is that they're sending me out a replacement. Bad news is that it's going to take 3-4 weeks.

Reason for the hole is that the one they sent me was trimmed for a Roadliner.

Sorry no pics on this computer. I've also seen somewhere that they make an adapter for the HD fairing so you can use the 6.5 speaker, don't recall the site tho, sorry.

erb are u using a hoppe (quadzilla) fairing or a Hd one? cause the way the quadzilla is anything large then 5" would look like shit cause they extruded from the fairing and there would be a lip from the speaker.

Think it's HogTunes that makes the 5.25 to 6.5" speaker adapters.
