6'4" ride with 16 inch apes on my roadie and baron radius bars on my v star. the thing that really helps is moving your feet forward with either floor board extensions or forward controls. then it's just a matter of what bars are comfortable. I also like the big johnson bars they are real comfortable for my size too.

Okay, okay, Loko... I'll look into what it would cost to send you a seat. After paying $36 to send one to MO., I just could see trying to send one to your CA address for any reasonable amount.

Seats are light, so I'll see if the largest fixed rate USPS box will hold one, okay? OR, if your wanting it stripped, I'll just pull the cover and foam and send you the pan.

So, how you want it?

Thanks dude , if you can send me the cover and pan I will really appreciate it , just PM me so I can give you my shipping address , I am going to make it a potato chip seat , one of the brothers from my MC has a seat that I freakin digg , it's an stiletto seat made by corbin , he uses it on his fat boy it is about 1 inch thick

Well, it looks like most of the Tall Guys are running with 16" Apes, what would be good for us short guys..12" or 14"? I want some that will bring me back but I dont want to reach to high. I have 4" risers on stock bars now.

Well how short are ya. I'm 5'9" and I have 16" apes on stock risers and I think they're perfect.

Well, Im about 5'9" too. Are they comfy at that height? Do you ever have shoulder pain problems. I have that now and was hoping that apes would help me out.

They're very comfy. No pain in my shoulders. I switched to apes on my XS1100 about 5 or 6 years ago because the short bars on it had me leaning too far forward and that put a lot of weight on my shoulder, elbows and wrists causing pain and numbness. So I put apes on and never looked back. First mod I did on my R* was apes.

I have really bad butt pain, but that's because I broke my tailbone when I was 2 and it didn't heal correctly and the seat is like a brick.

I'm 6'1" with longish arms, I have Baron's Big Johnson bar mounted on stock risers. It puts my hands in exactly the right spot. The height and width of the bars is perfect for me.

I'm right at 6' and 16" apes and stock risers fit me the best. I think bars are alot like bikes in general. What fits me might not be comfortable to the next guy. I would try to ride some friends bikes to see where your comfort spot is. We all have different shapes and past injuries that might make one position more comfortable than another. I put a set of apes on my softail years ago and have never went back, but that is just my personal taste. To me a set of 16's, a driver backrest, and forwards and I feel like I am in my recliner at home, but also feel like I am still very much in control of my bike. Good luck with whatever you go with!
