If you have an OM go through entire maintenance section for all service intervals and check everything you can wo taking it apart. It's a very good guide.
Then check your gear accordingly being sure it's serviceable and legal. Check your plate, registration and insurance card and be sure you have number of local lawyer who specializes in bike crashes. Put this info with your ICE card. Get in the zone and ride. (Whatever it takes to get in the zone do it.)

Tip of the day, carry a whistle. If you wreck and end up off road down an embankment legs broke you'll know why.

Tip two, and old CD hung on a string on the back of your bike draws a lot of free attention with the way it spins and reflects in lights and even sun.
