Watch out for yourself 'cause no one else is. Just got back from the ER with a broke toe and a hell of a sprang. You figure a half block from the house and your home free......Wrong! Seems they'll pull out in front of you anywhere. New crashbar, master cylinder, and driver side foot rest + damage to a parked truck. Served left to avoid genius driver turning in front of me , swerved right to avoid parked car on opisite side of street and couldn't get straighten her out before I tagged one on my side of the street. Me and this neighbor 'round the corner gonna have words. At least my boot is still good. Ya'll be safe cause the rear you save will definately be yours.

Sorry to here 'bout that man. It's definatly crazy out there, with everyone text messaging, painting thier nails, eating while driving ect. seems like no one is paying attention while they drive these days. My wreck was only a mile from home too summer of '07. I wish you and your bike a speedy recovery.

I was almost taken out yesterday heading out to another clinic member's house. i got off the highway took a left and a cager pulls out right in front of me! I was doing about 50 and maybe 50' away from him when he started to pull out then he almost stops in front of me i slammed on the brakes and turned towards the rear of the car and just squeaked by.....

yesterday was the 3rd day of riding my new cycle would have sucked to have totaled it....

If I posted every close call I had......... we should just do a close call thread and add to if as we get em. Constant reminders of what to look for and how to react, and not react.

I agree we should make a Thread in lite of what has happen in the past couple of weeks

I myself have had some close calls some good and some bad just because they are not paying attention to the road

I installed a headlight modulator in hope that it helps others see me. But I know it's not the cure all for inatentive cagers.

That's why my foot is in a cast for another week. They aren't looking so we have to look out for them.

Every spring it's the same cr%p. It is like we don't exist. Last year we had 7 dead riders, within 20 miles of my home, before the 1st day of summer.3 in niagara county and 4 in erie county.

davej, I put my modulator on last summer.I see cagers double checking their mirrors, as it gets their attention. So it must be doing the same as I approach. One of those things that, we will never know if that is what saved us.

ride safe, remember, they are All TRYING TO KILL YOU!!
