Hotels near the Dragon 2 Years, 2 Months ago
Does anyone have any recomendations of places to stay near The Dragon. I plan on making a trip up there sometime in May with a few friends from FL and I'm not sure where to stay. I looked online and there are quite a few options. Figured I would ask my RS Brothers.

The Microtel in Robbinsville is ok. Convenient and clean, rates are not that bad either. Good for doing the Dragon one day and the Skyway the next.

Yeah, I saw that one online. Seems like a neat idea. Have you stayed there / any reviews?

I stayed in the Two Wheel Inn last year and I'm planning to go back in April. They are great people, the rooms are cheap and comfortable, and the guests are all on bikes so there is plenty of company at night around the bon fire. Be sure and talk to Bobby (the guy runnin the place)about some other rides. The dragon is nice but not the best ride that's up there. I really enjoyed Wayah Road, ask a local or Bobby about it.

Check out Fontana Village Resort. I stayed over there last year and was the most bang for the buck anywhere close to the dragon. Very cool if you want some peace.

How about camping? We have a 32ft Motorhome so we prefer to take our hotel with us anfd tow the bike. It has been nice to setup a base camp and take off for the day on the bike. I could research this myself but since it's on the table, I'll ask for those "Who Dun It".
