Patch Cost 5 Years ago
Okay, I just got back in from A&M leather where I talked to the guy there about our patches. E seemed to be the most popular design that people liked. The Set up charge for that patch would be anywhere from 100 to 150 depending on how detailed we want to keep it. The cost per patch could be anywhere from 15 dollars to 30 dollars depending on how many are orded. The cost also depends upon the stitch count. They usually charge $1.00 per thousand stitches. But if more than a dozen patches are ordered the cost will be $0.50 per 1000 stitches. We can keep the cost down on the patch if we make a couple changes on it that will not affect the way it looks enitrely. For expample get rid of the red and white outer border. Put the patch on white and stitch the outline of the bike in black. Stitch in black the oval band. Put roadstar clinic in red without the white border around the lettering. The star emblem on both sides would remain the same. I asked for prices on patches such as Musky designed and the set up charge would be about half and once again it goes by stitch count for the price of the patch. So basically, we are looking at a patch that is not going to be like the five dollar patches you can pick up at most places. We will be paying a higher price due to the amount of patches we would be ordering. So with all that said, is everyone still interested? I told my guy that I was going home to post the information that he gave me on the forum and would let him know in a week or so. Everyones input is appreciated. Thanks

Roadstar, check this place out:
http://stadriemblems.com/prices.html

Unless I'm missing something, they will do a minimum of 12 patches for as little as $10 a piece.

Re:Patch Cost 5 Years ago
No I am thinking more to the cost around $15.00. I would rather go high than low so as not to mislead anyone. I am just in the quoting stage and rough estimate. If people agree with the certain minor changes the guy mentioned the price gets to be lower. Another option he mentioned was to use a motorcycle he already has digitized for the motorcycle in the middle of the patch. There are still many variables involved. But if I get people to say "hey, do what you need to do to keep the cost down while keeping it close to cougars original design" then I can get in there and get better numbers. But where it sits now Set up charge will be anywhere between $100 and $150, which in a previous post I said that I would eat that cost. But the cost of the patch will be determined by stitch count. Which the prices are in my opening post. So for example, if the patch ends up having let's say 50,000 stitch count. For orders under 12 would be 50 bucks a patch or orders over 12 would be 25 bucks. The guy told me though that usually their back patches(the bigger ones) are usually 60 dollars. So our little patch should be alot cheaper. Let's hear from people what is the most that you want to spend on a patch to see if this is worth our time. Thanks again for the input.

roadstar, First thanks for the time and effort you are putting into this. I think you are well within the ballpark on prices. Can your man provide a picture of the patch after the changes you mentioned?
Anything within or below the $30 each range would be acceptable to me, and would probably order two patches. Also I would be willing to kick in on the set up fees so you didn't have to eat the entire amount.
My vote is "go for it!"

Re:Patch Cost 5 Years ago
I will attempt to photoshop the patch that cougar submitted to try and make it look like we talked about at his shop. I should hopefully be done by tomorrow afternoon sometime. Not that it will take me that long, but I am taking my wife to the movies tonight and tomorrow I have an exam to take first thing in the morning. Once, again thanks for you input and keep it coming.

Thanks for the work you've done so far. I would go anything up to $30 and would get two
myself. And help with setup cost.

I am going to try to post the original patch photo and the revised idea. Hope it works.
