What's in you're saddle bags ?? 2 Years, 2 Months ago
I am new to the site. I got a great deal on an 03 Road Star last month and after not having a bike for about 10 years it feels great to get back out there.

I have been lurking and learning a lot from the posts and tech articles and so far have changed out my sprocket, installed lowering dog bones and variable rate springs and a bunch of other stuff still to come. Definitely learning a great deal from everyone on here !

As I have been cleaning up the bike and getting it configured to my likes I was wondering what other people put in their saddle bag and keep in there all the time.

Call me paranoid but I have a can of spare tire stuff that I have always carried in my vehicles. I have only had to use it once but it happened 30 miles from nowhere when I got TWO flats on my truck - pulling a boat across the desert.

What do you carry in your bags ??

Tom

Don't even want to know what you need come cleaner for!

I have a some clean underwear, one glove, a diet coke, a piece of licorice, duct tape, 2 marbles, and a half eaten apple pie from McDonalds. I am ready for anything!

Seriously that's a good question...I just added bags myself.

A rag, hose clamp, pressure gauge and multitool will fix about anything on the roadside. Also you should have a set of tools under your seat.

Rag, gloves, flashlight w/extra batteries, metric allen set, earplugs, bottle of water, gum, duct tape, .45 ACP. That covers about everything.

That is a good question.

Around town I carry bungee cords, a bike cover, a couple of micro fibre towels, sun glasses and night glasses, a new plastic garbage bag, a good knit cap, gloves, a luggage rack size cargo net, air gauge, small first aid kit, factory tool bag under the seat, extra fuel line and a tool kit that I've thrown together on my own wrapped up in one the towels. (The basic stuff needed when you are adjusting your carb during WOT testing. Enough so I can take off the tank, covers, carb, fuel lines and make carb adjustments quickly.)

Thinking about it, I should have a pump and tube repair kit in there too.

Any other ideas?

Ratl.

From the last time I was rummaging around in there - Rain gear, a few bungees, metric allen socket set, tire repair kit, disc lock, extra ear plugs, manual/registration/insurance papers and a set of clear safety glasses for driving at night.

I also have my Capital One card.
