Those folks got a long way to go in the quality dept. I don't mind my jeans coming from there, but not something that my life depends on. Ive seen too much inconsistancy in items that are supposed to be identical.... Their day will come, but not yet....

They had an exact replica of the Yamaha Vino scooter. I'm talking parts from one would bolt up to the other. They were over $2000 at the Yamaha dealer. I could buy the replica for $550. That one I never had issues with. It was a good knock off if that makes sense. I have seen a couple at the auction that are a VRod replica, but not a very good one.

Thats funny, and not far off. HD abandoned a manufacturing plant that if I remember correctly was in China during WW2. I think they continued to manufacture them for a while from that abandoned plant. So someone, somewhere probably still has those pre war HD designs and manufacturing specs.

Well, I was wrong about the country. It was Japan.
Some history on HD licensing to Japan

I have insulted a few people who bring a chineese scoter to me for repair and after they ask why I refuse to work on them I say that it "was 'junk' when it was brand new on the showroom floor." I tell them that chineese equipment are "throw away" units; when you buy it for as long as it works that is nice, but when it starts having problems the thing to do is "toss it" and start over!
I have had a sign made that says "scooters - oil changes (4 cycle) and tire changes only."

I have a cousin that bought a who flung dung type of sport bike. Its a 250 and it looks ok. I think he paid 2k out the door brand new. It has a few weird things about it. It will link up via bluetooth with your phone so a light will flash on the speedometer when you get a call. Its chain drive and just looks cheep. All of the gauges no longer work and its only a month old. I told him he is stupid for that purchace. When it comes to 2 wheels quality matters. I won't trust my life to them. ..just my 2 cents

My Wife bought me a knock-off Rolex watch when she was in China last year on a buisness trip. It's beautiful and can't really be distinguished from the real thing.... except that shortly after arriving home it quit running. It was only $20 and it looks good in my dresser drawer.

At least it's right twice a day, better than my watch..
