With a 6 degree rake in the trees you will reduce your trial, which in turn lowers the from peg mount about 1.75" and makes the bike free a bit nervous.

You can increase the trail by lowering the rear, raising the front or both. This will correct the 'nervousness'.

I currently have the Baron's Raked Triple Tree installed and I've lowered my rear end about 3 inches. The major difficulty is making turns. It's not easy making turns. You really have to slow down and get into the turn and at times can be a major pain. I also have the chrome tips on the ends of my pipes and I often scrape them while making turns.

That's why I chose to raise my front end ... at the front peg bolt I'm almost 2" higher that stock height.

Also don't forget by putting a larger wheel up front will help!
I'm putting a whole new front end on my bike with 6 degree of rake and 2" extended tubes, along with a 21" wheel. We will see how she handles.

www.chopperhandbook.com Enter the main site and click on the tab about rake and trail. A damn good read and a must read if your gonna rake it out. Like DOC said trail is the term of the day. It can and will kill you if your not paying attention to it when figuring your rake. Raked trees will give you less trail than you have and in some cases can give you what is called negative trail which is no bueno. It can be done just make sure you've got fork length issues and rearend height issues figured out. Give that link a read man. Also make sure that when all is done you'r bike sits level. A cool looking bike does no good when the motor is starved for oil. A little out is not a major problem but definatley something to think about.

Lowering the rear at high-way speeds certainly get's rid of the "nervousness"...

BTW, Triple Tree Rake is Good...
