Brake pads 2 Years, 2 Months ago
When I bought my bike a set of brake pads came with it as well as a bunch of other goodies. My rear pads are about due for changing. How can I find out if these pads are for front or rear? The pads I have are still in the package. Also, if I end up buying new ones, which are the best, front and rear? My bike is an '02

I did a how to on front brake maint. Search that.
Here is a pic of front brake pads in package. To tell, if you just have two pads that would be the rear. If you have 4 I suspect they are the front because that is what is needed number wise. You can also search the part numbers on website of choice. Get busy.
OH the name of these pads brag about less dust and better stopping, I agree.

The pads in the picture are rear pads. At least for 2004 and up the front pad are suspended on 2 rods and the rear on one. I believe the rear is the same all years, and changed with calipers in 2004. I could be wrong as I am working from memory, and can't go look at the bike right now. Something about work keeps interfering

I think they are fronts for a 2007 It's part of my how to. So anyways my info should set him on the track. I just know they are different front to rear on an 07 and if you have one set of pads, thats the rear. If I had pads for the rear, any pads, I'd just run them, the advantage in the rear one over the other is too small to buy new ones for if you have a set already. IMO. LOL no H. ' (put that on that that's up there)

Actually those are NOT rears for a 2002. Rears have both pins that they suspend with. I just spent an evening a few weeks ago completely rebuilding the rear calipers...believe me, I remember them!

LOL
