Iowa, what's the latest and greatest with the starter issue? Also, did you manage to pull the little pieces out of your motor to see what they are?

Hey all! Just got back from a week long trip to Cancun (drank WAY TOO MUCH Tequila!!!!). Anyway, that is why I have not given updates. I assume the new starter is sitting at my neighbors house. I will check out in the morning. Hopefully get things torn apart, and find the pieces, whatever they are. I should be able to compare the new one and old one to see what I am looking for. Thanks for the advice on starter spin Doc. I was kind of gathering that as I read more about it. Just wondering why it fell apart like that. I am sure it is just a bad clip, but we'll see.

Well I took the cover off, removed the two gears in there and found nothing. I am figuring the clip either did not get put on in the first place (which is why it fell apart), or it has fallen down to the bottom and is in the oil pan. Either way it does not look like there could be anything that could go wrong from here once I get a new one installed. i figured better safe than sorry. Doc, if you read this, did you get a chance to check on your Ultima, make sure it is ok? Just curious.

Sorry .... did not. Saving it for this weekend but need to fit it in between the hockey games (have a tournament this weekend).
