From Solo to Two up 2 Years, 2 Months ago
I put the pillion back on the bike today, along with the backrest and luggage rack. I really prefer the way it looks solo, but we (my wife and I) are going to Virginia for a week of vacation at the end of the week, and it is uncomfortable to ride two up without the pillion seat. Skyline drive is my first riding destination, but I will be staying in Richmond. Any reccomended rides around Richmond?

If you like civil war stuff go down to Appomattox courthouse. Nice ride and some beautiful country side. A little farther east in Bedford is the National D-Day museum.

Do like I was going to do before I wreaked the bike. Buy a second rear finder complete and have it painted the same color. There are only three bolts and and electrical plug and it is all set up for solo. 15 minutes tops and you got a solo bike.

That is what I did when I got her painted, had 2 fenders set up. Little expensive, as you need the 2 fenders, inner fenders, signal bars, tailight, etc. But now it is a piece of cake to switvh it up. Like having two bikes.

while you are there you can go through Blue ridge mountains there's a road called Blue ridge pathway. It's close to skyline. Enjoy

I rode the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina a few years back, but havn't been on the Virginia section...I am sure it will be good. Is Skyline drive part of the Parkway or is it a different mountain ridge?

One advantage, The Blue Ridge Parkway has no toll on it. I've ridden on most of if and it has got to be one of the nicest rides on the east coast.
