K&N 303 2 Years, 2 Months ago
I have always used K&N on ALL of my vehicles, both air filter and oil filter. No, i don't want to debate this because i believe you should use what works for you.

Here is my short story and question. I took off my oil filter, a K&N 303, to change the oil. It stuck me odd because in the last 25+ years i have been using them, they have always had a four digit reference. So i picked up a 3003 thinking that i read the filter wrong. I have looked at many conversion tables and although they list some motorcycles, Yamaha seems not to show up. Does anybody know the correct K&N filter number or any other manufacturers four digit code?

Thanks.

Dragoon

The K&N site - K&N

I'm not sure why you want to insist on a 4 digit code. If the filter that they say fits your bike has a 3 digit code that's what you should use. Or am I misunderstanding?

The K&N website says the 303 fits our Roadies. I couldn't find 3003 anywhere.

I don't care how many digits there are, i just could not find a reference to any charts that had three digits. I guess i am stuck ordering one as none of the shops around here have anything less then a 1000 + series.

Thanks folks.

Running a 303C chrome) on mine right now. Good filter! Get the chrome one and maybe three numbers and a letter (4 characters) will make you feel better.

I trust this was a witty barb. I have no problem with three numbers. That is NOT the reason for the thread. I was simply wondering. I will goo out and find a 303 )c or not)

I have been using the KN303 for 3 years and 7 oil changes, and love the filter. The nut in the end of the canister makes these things worth it by themselves.

I ordered a 303c. Normally, i would not pay extra for the c but it was only 50 cents more. Thank for your input
