#271720 btbeam (User) Expert Boarder Posts: 507 Took off the windshield ?? 2 Years, 1 Month ago   I bought my r* in fall and today for the first time i took off the windshield to try it out because it was hot here today. Holy crap am I a baby, it really beat me up with the wind on my chest. I made it about 15 miles came back home and put it back on. I like riding both ways. For commutes on the freeway and when I know I will be traveling above 60mph for extended periods, I like to have it on. Otherwise I like to have it off. I took mine off for the commute in today as it was +90 here. Well, we were taking a road trip and rode from the Bay Area to Las Vegas and he kept beating in my head to consider a windshield. So about 2 weeks before our trip I finally gave in and got a SwitchBlade 2Up windshield and took a trip with him though Sanoma up to Sac, the long way, about 2 1/2hrs. Man.........what a difference that thing makes!! turns 75mph winds to 25!!! I'll never go farther than 10 miles without it. Took the windshield off and was going to ride for a couple of hours. Made it down to the local gas station, turned around and put the windshield back on before continuing my ride. Man, that killed my back driving on the freeway 30 miles to go see Tabs. Thats why i got the shield and it has not come off the bike since installing it.
