#271755 hammersly (User) Just a few more minuets Expert Boarder Posts: 430 Re:Took off the windshield ?? 2 Years, 1 Month ago   Guilty of the same, took it off last year and headed out for a sunday ride. 30 miles later down the highway thought damn this really sucks, cant breath, bugs up the nose and in the face, and most of all the wind cut under my shades and eyes were watering so bad I had to drive in the slow lane just to see. The Roadie does look more "beefy or mean" with the shield off though. It makes that much of a difference? I commute daily on the freeway and never really thought too much about it... My head got beat up bad by the wind coming off and around it, that I've never driven with one since. Yeah it really does make a big difference, I took mine off last year and it went right back on, but that what when I was in the Navy and all the stuff on my uniform really beat the crap out of me so it went back on, now being less than a mile from work and only about 10 miles from the barn I think I might leave it off for a bit, at least until a longer ride comes up or I can get a short windshield that is not all scratched up, I think that scratched shield really takes to much away from my bike.   Logged     Any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: I SERVED IN THE UNITED STATES NAVY. In town I prefer the look without it, but doesnt bother me if is on the bike......
