Handlebar top clamp question. 2 Years, 1 Month ago
My 01 has 2 individual top clamps. The new models (I believe 04 and up) have a single top clamp that covers both risers.

My question is...will the newer 1 piece fit on my old risers? I'm assuming it would. I can't see why they would change the risers too, but I've seen stranger things!

I just bought burly 1-1/4" bars, but they are 1" in the center which I want to hide with the one piece top clamp.

Thanks!

What is the center distance of your stock risers? It may be different than on newer bikes with one piece top clamps. I checked Baron's web site ( http://www.baronscustom.com/catalog/display/764/index.html ), and they show different bars for different year groupings. I replaced my stock risers on my '08 with Baron's DT risers so my original ones are in a box collecting dust. If they will fit your bike, perhaps we can work something out.

I'm seeing one part number and ALL Road Star years listed under fitment.

That is telling me that the spacing has to be the same.

C:

I've swapped back and forth between the two types. Seem to be the same.

Question:
If you decide to do interior wiring, wouldn't you want to hang on to the dual clamps so the bundle can exit between them?

The one piece cover is open underneath so it still allows the wires to come out in the center and be hidden at the same time.

The 07 clamp measures 4 1/4" across the the top studs center to center.
The bottom studs measure 3 13/16, short distance between the two pairs is 1 1/2 C to C Hope that helps

Maybe I'm missing where this supposed hole is, but mine was just like this one... I polished every inch of it and I'm confident there was no hole...

Possibly, there are two different 1-piece clamps based on model year?
