Personally I like the half helmets because of the better peripheral vision it affords me as well as the acoustics. Might look like a big black mushroom but I'm okay with that. Besides I don't know if they make full face that huge.

I used to wear a half helmet. Wore it all the way to the accident, and never again. Slammed down on the pavement, and directly in line with the bottom edge of the half helmet, it fractured the C-2 vertabrae, leaving me just milimeters from paralysis or worse.

I can't wear the full face due to clostrapobia, but the 3/4 with face shield works just great, and I'm dressed more for the accident than the ride.

Just my 25 cents. Now, I'll get off this damn box!

Good point! Every time I see a shorts clad, t-shirt wearing, helmetless sportbike rider (because IMO, that genre seem prone to invite accidents) I gotta feel sorry for their family. Gonna be a messy showing. Now it's my turn to get off the soapbox. Next?!

If I'm gonna be on the superslab running near 80 for an extended length of time I will wear my full face modular. The fact that I can swing the front up from time to time keeps me from feeling boxed in. Mine has an internal sun shade as well so that means I can wear my glasses(bifocals) and reduce the eye strain I get from wearing contacts.

I'll be following my own advice in a few days when I head down to Panama City Beach on Thursday.

Full face Shoei, the wife gets claustraphobic but she feels comfortable with a modular.
A lot less noise, not as much wind checking through my autocom mike and can here the
music clearer.

3/4 helmets are nice for the blast of fresh air, just hope you never go down on your
face. Actually just hope you don't go down period !

I may be kinda funny here but I don't go anywhere on this bike without
my Full Face Helmet and Full Grain Leather Gloves on.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it...

I have a full face modular and you get used to it and I like the added protection but at least when you stop you can flip it up and get some air. I have the nemisis from cycle gear and it is priced very reasonable

I've found that all helments have advantages and disadvantages. The full helment provides by far the best protection, however is the bulkiest, hottest in summer and warmest in winter. My 1/2 helment doesn't provide much warmth in winter and tend to catch wind and move around. I generally go topless, but am going back to the 3/4 helment when i do wear. Guess everybody's cranium is built different.

I normally wear my full face modular, but in a parade I'll wear my 1/2 helmet. Scootergirl likes her 1/2 helmet, but on longer rides or in cooler weather, she will wear her full face. We both have the Scala, so we can communicate, and take phone calls.
