Damn cagers need to open their eyes! Here in southwest Iowas we have had 3 motorcyclists killed in the last 2 weeks from people making left hand turns in to the bikers. Tell me you can not see a bike with a headlight on coming right at you when you decide to make a left turn in front of them???????????????????????????????????????????? Pisses me off!

Just another example of the fact that we need to look out for them because they sure aren't looking out for us.

I'm convinced that the haedlight modulator used in conjunction with the amber passing lamps I installed on my bike are much better than just static white light alone. If I could get those amber passing lights to "wig-wag" I'd be doing that too!

With all cars required to have running lights these days I think most cagers have grown immune to seeing white lights coming at them. Anything a little different helps. Plus they really aren't trained to look for anything smaller than they are.

It's tragic, but seems to me about the only way we can increase our chances of being seen is standing out somehow.

I have had a headlight modulator for about a year and I promise it works. I still watch for the possible movement of the car turning in front of me but the cagers really stop and stare at that flshing light. I really feel naked at dusk when it stops flashing!

I would say the modulators help. I have one on my other bike and every time I pass a car coming from a side road they are looking directly at me. And I've had cars pull over expecting to get a ticket 3 different times.

That alone would be worth getting one!

I installed a headlight modulator a few weeks ago and I know it's getting the other driver's attention!
I also installed a brakelight flasher at the same time and I can tell by watching my mirror when I apply the brakes that the following drivers notice right away as they tend to back-off quickly.
I bought both from http://www.comagination.com/modYamaha.htm
They were very easy to install (with a little help from the guys here on wiring the brakelight flasher).
Good Luck!

Head light modulator is a good thing, but situational awareness is also vital. If you have not seen this site from the MSF give it a try.
