really sounds like dead battery...what voltage is it charging to? how old is battery? what brand is battery?

had similar problem with my sportster, left me stranded had to jump it with a small jumper box ran it for a while when i stopped after about 5 mins it would start again but after maybe 30 mins or more the thing was so shot that it would try to start one revolution then just quit and click

threw in a new battery and realized i had forgotten how quickly bikes start with fresh batteries haha

It's a female dog but at least I can push start mine. When mine has done that it was the battery and in the 10 years I've had mine I've put 2 in it. I would get the battery checked.

Just R%R the battery. Problem solved.
Personally, I went with a gel battery a few years back (2 batteries in 9 years ain't bad) and only had to charge it once this past horrible winter to start her. (She does stay outside year round now but, under cover and under an over hang leading to the garage.)
Good luck, VWH.
