My Roadie is kinda like my wife. They both don't like the cold weather too much.. But oh, so many things I DO like about them both!
Actually my Roadie and my wife each have minor quirks that irritate me, but all in all, my Roadie and my wife a close enough to PERFECT for me.
I couldn't ask for a better motorcycle, or wife.
The RoadStar is my choice bike.

All that about your wife, you must be wanting a new piece of chrome..

just giving you a hard time...

Hi folks. This is my first post, been lurking for a couple of weeks.

I bought a Vstar650 to refresh my riding on and for my wife to move up to from my 66'Dream.
Plan was to drive all summer for the learning curve, but that has gone quicker than expected, so my wife made the move to the 650VS and I needed a bike.
Found and 05' Silverado R* and bought it 3weeks ago. I was having buyers
remorse becuase the Harley "thing" was buggin me. Before I registerd the bike i rode a Dyna and a Road king, these bikes, as stated are smaller compared to the R*. being 6'3" I 'm glad I made the Roadstar choice.

Great site, Thanks!

I started out on a 750 shadow and then went to 800 Suzuki Volusia.
I then got a VStar 1100 and loved it. I got talked into going to the
1700 R*. I wanted the license plate that said Wuz-His but it was already taken.
I know several females that are on the VStar 650 and they wouldn't trade it for
the world. I have no regrets of moving up as my comfort level moved up but I have been riding since I was 12.
I hear a lot of talk about the wish list of the HD. I don't see what everyone see's in that. IF I WON the Lottery tomorrow I wouldn't give up my R*. I would get me an Iron Horse to go with it.

Nice looking ride Dave. The hard saddle bags look sharp against the red.

Re:Why the R*?? 5 Years ago
I have had many bikes over the years, a Kawasaki LTD 440 back in the 80's, Honda V45 Magna, Honda Shadow ACE, and even a Harley Sportster. When I went looking to get a new bike, my first in 4 years and my only NEW, not pre-owned bike, I initially went looking at another Shadow. I really loved that bike and after all of the problems that I had with my Sportster, it was always reliable. I went into a big shop where they had Honda's, Kawasaki's, Suzuki's, and Yamaha's right next to each other. That's all it took. Looking at them next to each other sold me on my R* right them. I went back and did the research and then happily bought my R* a week later. I could not be happier!

If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would also keep my R* and start working the the Big Bear Chopper kit that would be coming my way, but that would just be for show. My Roadie is my baby and would not be going anywhere. Oh, and living in Cambira CA!

Re:Why the R*?? 5 Years ago
I have had a few bikes over the years, went for 8 years or so without a bike, caught the bug again when I helped a buddy with his Harley's, did a fair bit of riding on his Decker. Wanted one real bad, my wife does not share the love of riding so she was reluctant to want to spend 25 grand on a new decker. Found a nice 99 Royal star venture, too much again for her. Found a real nice V-star 1100, when I went to look at it next to it was this awesome looking 03 Midnight star with extra chrome, had to have it and the price was excellent. End of the season for some (september) but I liked the look, size, and new I could do something about the quiet exhaust. Haven't stopped messing with it since I bought it, Windshield, pipe mods, OOPs new pipes, Backrest, saddlebags, etc..

Love this site, soo much info and so little time to ride, tinker, goof up and ride some more.

Enjoy

For me it was fit, finish, awesome power (even stock) and price. My brother is on his 2nd Harley, a really nice brand new Street Glide, and he was impressed by my bike. He had to put 4 grand into it to keep up with my '01 with 17k miles.
