Emblems? The bike comes with emblems?

I used floss. Stretch it behind the emblem and then with a see-saw motion cut through the double-sided tape. You can remove the tape residue by rolling you finger across it and finish of with GooGone.

You can also use fishing line or anything else that strong but won't rub the tape.

The process is made easier if it hot outside.

hair dryer...then nylon fishing line back and forth like doc said...

comes off nice and clean up with goo-gone..the emblems are unharmed and can be reused with new double sided moulding tape..

Floss? I was just looking at it last night wondering what the best way to remove the emblems would be. I wouldn't have come up with floss. good idea.

Are the Yamaha emblems on the side covers also on with the two sided tape?

Yes.

The letters on the fender are decals that can be pealed off.

The floss will break a few times but I thought it softer than fishing line. The clear is very soft so you need to be careful. If fishing line worked for Pop then it's also a go.

I used very light fishing line and it broke a few times...it is the side cover yamaha emblems I removed ...they are plastic and held on with two sided tape...
I replaced them with cute little flame emblems

left the gas tank ones alone...

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2007/05/29 12:07

The fishing line or floss idea works good, but for a really smooth operation, have a friend keep it warm with a hair dryer as you peel it.
