Castrol oil 2 Years ago
Was wandering around the local walmart today and saw some fully synthetic v-twin specific oil. Has anyone tried it yet?

If it's good stuff , with the 7317 filter , you're still around 35.00 bucks on a service , not too bad. BB

I run castrol in everything I own except my Roadie and my Dodge Cummins. I would love it if my local walmart carried the castrol v-twin oil.

I've seen the blended Dirk, but this stuff must be fairly new if they haven't updated their website.. It plainly stated on the bottle that it was a full syn blend, I guess they are blending more than one synthetic or blending additives into it...I just googled it and you can get it at advance for 8.99 a qt...Oil

FYI,,If you see the word " BLEND " & Syn it's a blend of " CONVENTIOAL OIL AND SYN OIL BLENDED TOGETHER ".

Syn blend oil can better handle heat/thermal breakdown the std conven oil but still isnt as good as full syn,if fall inbetween std conven oil & full syn oil in pricing & ability to handle heat/thermal breakdown, stress which is what it was designed & marketed to do.

Thats why its more money then std conven oil but less money then full syn oil.

HEY!!!,You guys want a great deal on oil, autozone is selling all their Valvoline VR1 race seires oil for street use with proper detergent lvl more importantly a good 1400ppm dose of zddp/zinc & phos that will protect the flat tappet cam & lifters in our R* motors .

It's 50% off both the conven & fully syn ,i bought some conven 20w-50 for my 69 chevelle ss 396 bbc and it cost $2.14 qt,cant beat that, the full syn is approx $4.50 per qt.

But you it will have some friction mods in it which most oils sold today have reguardless of visc/grade ,some guys dont mind running fric mods and others do.

BTW,this is a non published sale and even the people working at autozone done know it as i found out when i bought my oil. I asked if it was on sale and they said no,not in flyer then not on sale.

I asked him to scan a bottle and it came up 50% off at $2.14 qt for coven valvoline VR1 20-50,blew his mind./LOL!!!!

It's also avail in 10-30 & single grades too but they dont always stock all grades but can order it.

FYI,your not supposed to run this oil in newer cars with cat converters becasue over time/many miles the zddp can possibly clog the cat driving emmissions error codes that turns on chk engine light & motor runs poorly due to clogged cat. Then you have a big bill to replace the cat, clean emmissions system,& clear codes, etc. It's only supposed to be run in cars/ bikes with no cat converters.

Scott
