help buying RoadStar 1 Year, 11 Months ago
Looking at a couple different raodstars...any thoughs would be appreciated along with things to look for.

http://westmd.craigslist.org/mcy/1736665520.html

http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/mcy/1720251797.html Has 38,000 miles better pictures show this is a nice looking purple (pains me to say nice purple bt I do like it) and black with loads of extras. Is the 38K a dealbreaker?

Thanks for the help, anyone have a RS in the 4 - 5k price range semi near Pittsburgh PA PLEASE speak up!

you can also check the classified section here at the RSC. These things are pretty bulletproof. So as long as it has had normal maint and looks good you should be Ok. If you get a 99-2003 1600 ask if the trans recall has been done and at what mileage. If it hasn't been done the dealer will rebuild the upper end of the engine when they do the trans. And at no cost to you. Good Luck finding your bike

38K is not a deal breaker. Roadies have very durable motors. These bikes can far exceed 100k without any problems. I would go for the one with the fairing and other goodies,.. you'll be set up for touring or cruising.

Saw your post and wanted to let you know that I'm selling my 2005 Roadstar Midnight with 2,024 miles on it. It's in showroom condition with lots of extras. The bike's in central NJ so not exactly next door to you but it may be worth the trip for you. If you're interested email me at scottturner@comcast.net and I'll send you some more info. I'm selling the bike for $5600 firm. You won't find a nicer bike for sale anywhere (in my opinion of course).

Thanks....Scott

Lojacks cycle sales had a few 08 leftover he was asking 8,000 pretty sure he wont go 5,000 but he might get you close. Ask for Ron he is the owner and he wants rid of them.

Fom Pittsburgh you go up 28 north to the first freeport exit not sure the number and then make left and its about 3 miles out SR908

That 99 with the fairing sounds good, a $400-$500 add on.
Scotts Midnite sounds good also,( not a purple lover).
