I did a 2,000 mile ride back in April to GA and FL and really could have used a backrest. 600 or 700 bucks for upgraded seats isn't in the budget, and I haven't wanted to dish out a lot of bucks for a fixed backrest anyway.

So....I bought a Kuryakyn Tombstone bag. I only need it on long rides anyway, and having the luggage meant not strapping a roll bag to the passenger seat. The bag has an metal internal frame and comes with both a 2" and 4" zip-on lumbar pad.

Just rode 1,688 miles with it around Lake Ontario, and it was awesome.

Normally retails just under $150. I won an e-bay bid for a new one in the box for $117. Works for me.

Sorry for the multiple posts and edits. Haven't figured out this image upload thing yet. Others seems to be able to post nice resolution images in a large size without exceeding the 50K image size limit --- magic.

First you resize your pic to less than 450 wide by 400 tall.

I use Adobe CS, but with your program you should be able to save the pic as a Web photo. This will let you reduce the kb size of the pic to less than 50 kb.

What are you using to resize the pic?

DocShadow,

I'm using Adobe PhotoShop. Didn't think about the "Save for Web" option.

Thanks for the tip(s)

Thought I'd give this another shot --- experiment type of thing.

Hopefully we'll see a better shot of the Tomstone bag (with built-in backrest) I use for long rides.

Post edited by: chunt889, at: 2007/06/06 23:04
