Re:Feeling Extremely Lucky 1 Year, 11 Months ago
well done for walking away.

the `lucky bugger of the yearŽ though goes to one of my clients whos bike (KTM 950) i finished repairing last week.

last summer he went into a corner WAAAY too hot, lost it, hit a road sign, glanced off that and into a wall, flipped over the wall and ended 20 ft down a railway embankment laying on the lines.

someone he knew was behind in a car and got out and clibed down to drag him off the lines, and 1 min later a train went past!

1 broken arm and 1 broken leg was all he had.

definately a story to tell his grandkids.

It just goes to show you that a momentary lapse of concentration can spell catastrophe. How many of us will be looking around while riding and notice ourselves verring one way or the other in our lane?....We all have experianced this, only to let out a whewwwwww.... to ourselves, thinking to.... 'cool it on the looking all over'. Add to that curves and darkness......well you can guess the rest. This was your lucky FUBAR, the next could be......well.....anything from a non'event to a wickid crash.

These are 700 plus pound sleds, not featherweight sport bikes, their recoveries from faulty input takes a herculean effort to correct. Glad your safe on this one. It will have no-doubt left an imediate impression on your motor centers. Just cool it, pay more attention, and consider this one a good crash. ......if there is such an animal. peace.

Next time you want to go swimming, get off the bike first. Glad you are walking and talking. The bike probably needed washed anyway.
