Super GREEN Newbie question..... 4 Years, 11 Months ago
Just bought my 2006 Road Star 1700 on 5-27-27.(3 miles on her from the Yamaha Dealer) I know have 154 Original miles on her and I got 27.7 mpg on my first tank. Will I be getting better gas mileage as she breaks in? I can't wait to dress her up!!! OOOOOhhhheeaaahhhh!!!!!!!!!! I figured you guys will definitely know! Thanks!!!

Welcome to the Clinic.

I hope you enjoy your bike as much as we do.

The mileage will go up as the bike is broken in.

Welcome, Yamahog, and congrats on the new R*! And we mustlove our bikes passionately, since it seems we spend more time messing around inside these thing than in our other other woman... Ok, maybe not...but close. It's a really pisser when this other woman has PMS problems, though. But at least we can adjust THESE symptoms...

Enjoy & Welcome!

Welcome Yamahog. Before long your bike will have more miles on it than you 4-wheeled vehicle!

Love my 2005 M*. Just bought it new last December. Now she has 4,500 miles. I'm getting about 34 mpg city and 45 highway. Can't stop riding. My car is collecting dust in the garage. I'm doing a few mods this week so this picture will change soon (speedstar pipes, jet kit, K & N V-102 air cleaner and ignition module). I've found this site to be a trove of information.
Thanks...
