Chrome fork tubes??? 1 Year, 10 Months ago
Hello All,
I am hoping that someone can fill me in on where i can buy chrome fork tube covers. I have an 03 Roadie and the flat stainless OEM just doesnt present the front of my bike the way I want it to. OR..... Is it possible to remove the stainless covers that are on it and run it without? Has anyone done this, and if so, how does it look?

Thanks,
NICK

Are you talking about the tins that cover the top of the forks giving it the tapered look?

Nick....Cycle Image does a complete front end with exchange. From everything I've heard, they do excellent work.

I don't have info on removing the covers but I know others have done that.

Thanks Greeny,
That is exactly what I am looking for. Although I'm still alittle light headed from the sticker shock. lol

I think if spend the $ for that kit I may want to go ahead and rake the front a bit as well. Does anyone know whats involved with that?

Thank you!

Yep...definitely not cheap, but sure is purty! Look around their site a little and you'll be wanting a lot more than forks. They have some real nice stuff.

Keep an eye on ebay too as chromed forks/covers show up now and then. There's a set of chrome forks out there right now. Not the upper covers though.

The lower covers are 5MB-23123-00-00 for chrome and 4WM-23123-00-00 for he brushed finish. The upper covers are 4WM-23121 for chrome and 4NK-23121-00-00 for brushed finish.
I have an 03 Silverado Limited Edition and the covers are chrome.
The strut is chrome, so if you removed the covers you would be looking at the bare strut. Which would look like most other bikes.
I have in my shop right now two 750 Honda Shadows one has covers one does not.
Run a search for "motorcycle salvage" and you will come up with an huge list for the nation, the list for Florida is 3 pages.

There's a full chrome set on Ebay right now for around $250.00 for chrome tubes and covers.

Link to Ebay Auction

Looks good without the covers, imho...

We have a Clinnic member RIPBiker13 who is making major modifications to his R*. He is raking it and replacing the front end with a springer front end. I haven't seen anything from him in ages. I belive he is from El Paso.
