Front End 1 Year, 10 Months ago
Hey Roadies, Hopefully there is a simple resolution for my issue. I just received my reckless fairing with radio complete and installed it on my bike. Out of the blue, I get a bad wobble up front after I hit 60. Does anyone have any idea what the heck can be wrong, i can't even ride on the highway like this. Also, I noticed there is about a 2inch space in between the headlight and fairing, so my stupid assumption is air is getting up in the fairing and moving air around. any suggestions. also, is there any type of stabilizer for our bikes.

My Dead Center Fairing seat a little high as wall from the head light but never road it like that so I can't say if the air flew is the cause of your problem but what I did do is I remade the brackets and lowered the fairing to about a 1/4 of an inch from the top of the head light and have no vibration at all

How much space do you think you have in between the headlight and the actual fairing?

You need to do some adjustments with your fairing mount. You need to get the fairing tighter to the headlight, and probably a little more forward so the fairing pushes the air out and down. Right now you are sucking air up through the healight and the sides of the fairing and it is giving you a very dangerous lift.

I experienced this my self and made my own mounts so I could get the fairing adjusted for the best air flow. I do not know what there fairing mounts look like so it is hard for me to see if you can redrill them for a better fit.

That sounds like a likely answer. I'm scared to drill the dam bracket, but I guess it's the thing to do. Right now I have about 2 1/4 inches of open space above the light, and also there is some space on both side of the light. It actually looks akward and I just didn't want to get into my own mods as I'm not a do it yourself type of guy, but this one makdes plenty of sense. Now that I look at it, the fairing is pointed down, thus the air pushing upwards. excellent points from both of u

RoadstarmikeNJ do you think that they may have sent you the wrong brackets, a lot of guys have a reckless fairing and I haven't heard of that problem
