smoke covered rear 4 Years, 8 Months ago
Sorry in advance guys, but this one has me stumped. My 05 1700 is constantly covered with buildup on the swing arm and right side of the rear fender. After several adjustments, I'm ready to give up and buy stock in soap and wax. Here are the basics of goodies: Poor Man's BAK, V&H shortshots, stock primary, 170 dj main, pms 3.25 turns out. I had someone else install the jet kit the first time, but the dj recommended settings were so far off, I had to start playing. The 190 is far too rich, and fouls plugs, as does the dj primary jet. I'm pleased with the performance now, but I'm tired of having to clean the bike every time I take it out of the garage. That cuts into my ride time. I may also have the start of the dreaded three little letters, as it sometimes will start to sputter on the rear cyl. It clears up with a little help from my right hand, but will do it again if I have to sit or a lot of city driving.
Thanks in advance for your help!
