cant get rid of high idle 1 Year, 9 Months ago  
i have a question for a friend he has an 06 roadstar, and he cleaned his air filter reoiled it. now the bike has a high idle. when he adjusts it with the idle adjustment screw under the air filter and starts to ride the idle goes back up to a high idle any input would be great

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Does he have one of those air filters with openings that require a vacuum hose be connected to it?

Is he adjusting the idle on a fully warmed engine? If not, then that is when it should be done. If he is having an issue of up and down idle light to light kind of thing, then either an air or vacuum leak or not tuned pilot ckt (usually too lean).
