Fuel mileage on EFI R* 1 Year, 9 Months ago
I have read the fuel mileage on this site and as whole it is 10 mpg at least more than what I am getting. I would like to set out the EFI's and see what the range is here. I am getting 32-35 mpg with being light to medium on the throttle. Bike is still new just under a thousand miles. EFI's???

Stage 1 exhaust, without winshield 35, closer to 32 with medium windshield and bags.

You're not going to get a good idea of what the gas mileage is on the EFI bike when your bike has such low mileage.

Mileage is usually low for a new low mileage bike. It needs to be 'broken in' first.

Thank you, Doc. I did not know it would change so drastically.

I know that sounds like crap,,,,,,,,,, But seems to even out
In 2008 I was getting around 30-34, and 17,000 miles later I am up to 35-38, still no fuel sipper but at least as good as a small car

I've gotten in the low 40's since my bike was new in June '08 except when I had the PC III connected. With the PC III connected I got in the low 30's.
I now have about 5,700 on my bike. Check my profile for current mods.

After I passed 5,000 miles my fuel mileage was averaging 38 mpg. After changing to Mobile One oil the mileage is now 42mpg. I was surprised that an oil change would affect it that much. I'm now at 6,700 miles and I think it is still breaking in. The mileage I think will get better.

I learn something new every day. I just assumed that the FI would get better fuel mileage than the Carb...Wrong again...Guess I was thinking autos...

Assuming correct mixtures (not a problem with EFI) it takes X amount of fuel to move a given weight at a given speed (energy production). Mine gets about 40mpg around town and up that about 10 mpg on the highway. Given that on our bikes the rider and baggage can make up about 20-30% of the total weight, fuel milage will vary between owners quite a bit, and thats not to mention rider styles.

My milage has been 40 mpg from day one, I put a K&N air filter and went to 20w-50 Amsoil at the first service and I have Roadhouse slip ons I also run NGK Iridium plugs. The only time it drops below 40 is when I put on the tour pack and I get 38 mpg.
The bike is an 08 with 21000 miles in just less than 2 years. I gased up today and got 42.75 mpg that being said I ride a lot of back roads at 55 to 65 mph, however I crank it up to 80-85 on the interstates.

I weigh 215, no windshield, Cobra FI2000r-o2, cobra hotrod shorts and maxair aircleaner and I get around 45mpg no matter where I ride (city/hwy). Closer to 48 on the hwy if I have a good tailwind and I stay 65 mph or lower.
