HA! Everyone here probably knew this but me... 1 Year, 8 Months ago
I'm use to saddle bags, problem was, the stock Yami bag opening wouldn't even accommodate a 18-pack of beer without putting them in one by one, so, in haste I took the bags and the supports off the bike, figure I'll just go with a larger easily removable (without tools) throw-over bag when I could afford them....well, I need bags now, so, I figured the stock ones are better than none, what I found out was, the upper holes in the bags line up perfectly with the sissy bar fender bracket bolt holes, all ya need is a 1/2" longer aft bolt for each bag and 4 bolt sleeves and 4 fender washers ....$5 fix...they can also be made to quick release for peanuts, now I can use them and remove them in seconds until I can afford the new bags, and another bonus is, you don't have all that ungainly framing attached to the bike any longer

Also, you can put 18 12oz cans of beer in each saddle along with a bag of ice, don't forget to drill a hole in the bottom of the bag for drain

$5 to solve probem
$30 for beer and ice
Cold Beer after a long days ride...PRICELESS!

So you are bolting the hard bags right to the eyebrow? I wonder how long they will last like that..

It would be a sin to dump an 18 pack along the fast lane.

The eyebrow is thru-bolted through the fender, it accommodated the weight of all the backing steel for the bags along with the bags and contents, so, I'm thinking the beer will be fine, you'll know it didn't work if you happen along the hi-way and see an old fat man on his hands and knees licking the road

Oh yeah, the eyebrow will be fine. I was wondering about the bags drooping into the pulley. Might make a self draining ice chest.

No, it'll be fine, I have wrist-cuffs with a chain connected to the bottom of the bags for momma to keep them out of harms way

I always wondered what bags were for! Usually the HD guys I ride with have a truck and trailer following along to pick up the pieces so it carries the beer!!
