finding oil and such 1 Year, 5 Months ago
I decided after reading the survey I put out about who uses what type of oil to go with synthetic oil. I called walmart strauss and I don't know who else. I can't believe it is so hard to find 20/50 oil and as far as sea foam goes forget about it only one store keeps it in stock.
I should become a distributor LOL

Do you not have an autozone or oReileys auto parts store near by,
or any autoparts stores? I know autozone carries mobil-1 v-twin oil.
walley world don't carry any motorcycle spiecific oil here in KY.

The auto zone here only had 3 quarts when I went to change mine. Told the manager to order me a case no problems. $7.99 a quart..

Not all stores of the same name stock the same items. I can only find V twin oils at bike shops where I am. They will special order only and am sure it has to be in quantities.

Hey cruiser

Most oil companies websites have dealers locators. Try going to Mobiles or whoever your looking for and check it out.

Re:finding oil and such 1 Year, 5 Months ago
After calling several Autozones and strauss stores, walmarts and on and on. I found the motherload a Autozone that carried the plugs the oil,sea foam and filter. I was a happy camper. I bought a Mobil 1 M1-108 filter the M1-110 was bigger and I was worried that It might not have enough room to put it on the bike.

Is the M1-108 OK to use it looks about the same size as my yamaha filter?

Also I bought a `160z can of seafoam do I use the entire bottle I feel the bike is not running right and want to do a shock treatment?
After that I will change the oil and spark plugs and change gear oil as well.

Post edited by: cruiser, at: 2007/06/18 20:36

The M1-108 is on the list of filters for the Roadie. You can dump the whole can in a full tank and then run her good through the tank. But you don't always have to do the shock. If you aren't running that bad you could try putting in an oz per gallon for a couple tanks and see if that helps.

Hi Musky
I think I will go for the shock treatment since I am do for an oil change anyway.
This way I figure I can blast it out and then maintain it by alternating MMO and sea foam treaments.

Thanks for the reply

Re:finding oil and such 1 Year, 5 Months ago
Bought the wrong oil by accident, so went out to day to get the right stuff. After looking the other day all over, walked in to the cycle shop next door to where I was headed and they had some Mobile 1 V-twin 20w50 full syn in stock. Grabbed it and went.

I find this, the Mobil 1 V-twin, to be a pain to find outside of the cycle shops. I actually found it hard to find any 20w50 suitable for a motorcycle in any of the parts stores (Adv. Auto Parts, AutoZone, Pep Boys, etc).

If you have a Carqwest near you try that. At least in my town they carry Mobile V twin and Amsoil 20/50 bike oil.
