Dragging Floorboars 1 Year, 8 Months ago
Had an excellent ride today with my Uncle. We left this morning for Lake George NY for the Adirondack Nations (Rod and custom show). On the way there I dragged the floor boards for the first time! I tried to stay the same speed as my Uncle (he has a HD Dyna) on the ramp from Rt787 North to Route 2......nice long tight turn, stayed right behind him!
I love this bike, the more I ride and the better my skills get, I can't get enough of this Bike! My Uncle and I had a good laugh about it, seems silly, but making memories!

You keep that up and you'll have to put new moles on your boards Fun though isn't it

Moved mine forward and tilted them so I do that more often than I want. It's a trade off. Kinda neat too.

Yes it was Greysnake! The coolest thing about it, no front end wiggle, getting used to "not" oversteering and enjoying the turny turns much more these days!

I drag my floor boards all the time. The wife hates it when she hears them scraping. I'm thinking of putting the pegs from a Warrior on my bike. I have corners that I take on my FJ1200 at 35 mph with no dragging. Take the same corner on the R* at 25 mph and the floor boards drag all along the corner. A knee dragger this bike ain't.

Draggin' took me a few times to get used to it. At first I would jolt and then "oh yeah, the boards". Now I have a little better feel for how far I have to lean to scrape so I think I can anticipate it a little better.

I had the same reaction, I was like; wtf....oooooh, floorboards, cooool. Now I know what it feels like. More then likely I'll have the same reaction if it happens again. Just a small milestone for a rookie rider.

I hear ya. I too have a FJ (FJR). First time I Touched Down with it was on the Gap. The boards on my Roady are nearly half way through the skids.

I used to drag a lot..... Once I even dragged the exhaust in the rear, actually got up on it and was skidding on the exhaust and the side of the tire until I put some left on and got back on the tire. A good whoopsey! Feeling there. But, Once I put the Darkside tire on the rear, the height diference makes for much more aggressive turns with no dragging the floorboards or exhaust, but for fractions of a second at a time. I think I have only drug them maybe once sine I put the Darkside tire on.

The diference in height.

Before the Darkside, you can see I am about to drag the tailpipe.
