One of the biggest advantages is that the cast is tubeless. If you are out on a ride and puncture a tire you can plug it to get you where you are going. Can't do that with a tube type spoke. With a cast wheel you don't have to worry about spokes working loose. Don't know how big a problem that really is though. Easier to clean a cast wheel although not that big of a difference to me. Probably others but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Other than the reasons stated above Cast Wheels remain true and round as the spokes do not tighten of loosen, in addition they do not have lateral flex that spoked wheels have making the bike track truer in corners. They do not require tubes and leak less air generally. Anybody got more to share

2wheels, you can go with HD wheels. You can find them pretty cheap. Then just look up Looney's (http://www.ldcustombikewurks.com/mainpage.htm) for the adaptors. Then if you change the look of your bike later you can mount any HD wheel, stock or custom, that your heart desires.

I really appreciate all the feedback; and after hearing all the pros and cons of the wheels, I think I'm going to try the WW tires on my existing cast wheels. I'm very glad I asked you guys for your opinions...It was a good learning experience for myself.

THANKS AGAIN.

BTW... JAMayer; thanks for the offer.

Just out of curiosity; besides easier cleanup what are some of the advantages to cast wheels ?

I really wanted to go with the whitewall tires as well. Are there whitewall tires available in tubeless form for the roadi. I've looked around and really did not find any. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place or just do not know what to look for.

Another concern is' How do you all think a whitewall tire would look against the cast wheels. My Roadi is an 07, color is red and the wheels are silver with black accent.

I never thought about trading someone for the wire wheels. If I do go that direction, I will have to look into that.
THANKS.

There are several here that have the whitewalls on cast wheels. I think they look great with the cast wheels also. I mainly like the spokes for the more old school look.

they sell tubeless spoke rims also - just tend to be little more money
