I simply modified the original mount and bolted that right back in place. It's now up high, and right under the tank.

I straightened it, and then re-bent it 90 degrees downward, nearer to the bottom end of it.

I used a scrap piece of stainless 1/8" x 1" wide that was about 8" long. Drilled and tapped it to bolt it where the original mount went then put a 90 degree bend in it. Painted satin black.

I would say that my mount probably looks very much like the one BigBoy described, only I fabbed from the original piece.

i cut the stock one down some and the threads on it are the same as rear tank bolt - used it as the nut, and used the original nut to lock that one in. i mounted there and gave it a twist so ar rear corner of tank and easy to get, yet "hidden" some.

I have a small Kand N filter so took choke knob and using stock bracket attached it to air filter mount on rear head. Points right at me. Then again I dont have the stock tank so its readily at hand.
