can violence be justified? 4 Years, 11 Months ago
Yesterday I was riding home and a girl cuts me off on the highway. I pull along side her and I flip her the bird. She then decides to show me and swerves her car into me but did not hit me. I made a decision there and then to follow her home get off my bike and punch her in the face. To me this was attempted murder. She started to try to get away from me I was doing 90mph she was weaving in and out of traffic I backed off and figured I would follow from a distance. I saw her get off at the exit I was going to get off. I pulled up to the car and it was the wrong car. I was and am still so dam mad. I am now seriously considering carrying ball bearings with me or some other goodie

I've kicked dents in a couple car doors and I felt damn good doing it. Of course I kicked the door because the punks that were so brave on the road wouldn't open the door after they were stopped. Is it justified? In a way I think so. Maybe if it happened to enough of them the word would get around.

But if you pulp the idiot that just tried to kill you more than likely you will go to jail not them. They just ain't worth it. They aren't worth one day of missed riding. So now I do my best to blow it off and get back to enjoying my ride.

It's very easy to fly by and knuckle slam a mirror (I got the hard knuckles on my gloves) I don't get bothered by people who don't see you then move on you realize their mistake. It's the ones who look right at you and move over in your lane or when you are cutting lanes look in their mirror and swerve over so you can't got by. My friend has a pocket of ball bearings about 1/2" that he carries all the time and he just pulls ahead of the car drops one on the ground it will bounce and BAM right through a radiator! No way to prove you did anything and you are long gone by the time they realize what happened.

At first I used to get upset and even tried to get even but with age comes some wisdom.

It's not worth the potential trouble. What if the cager decides not to stop and simply runs you over.

I like smhowse's silent revenge. I would feel better and no one is the wiser.

In this day of roadrage, people getting shot for rude driving and all it just ain't worth getting mad or trying to get even. E.G. My boss knows someone who went down to Florida for some bike thing. A person in a car cut him off on his bike, he decided to get even and cut the car off. Well the driver of the car gets pissed and nails his rear end and sends him flying. Now he's in a coma. So question is, is it worth getting even if your laid up in the hospital or even dead? No. Don't get me wrong my temper can fly on the drop of a dime but when I am on my bike it is to take me away from all the BS of everyday life. And if I let people get me upset when I am riding then riding will no fun and I don't want that. As for dropping things ball bearings/spark plugs/etc. I just don't need someone over reacting to something hitting their car and causing injury to an innocent party or even to themselves no matter how big of an ahole they are. I just want to keep my concscience clear. Just my ramblings for the day. Sorry so long. Off to Indiana I go now.

I agree with you 2000roadstar. Riding is my exscape, my down time. Most of us have to work and its stressful enough at the job. About the worst I do if someone cuts me off is either get up bedside them point at my eyes so maybe they will look closer next time,, or I have even got up beside them and let my pipes curse them out.... The Long Shots with no baffles can be an attention getter for sure...

Can't say I've ever kicked in a door on some ahole's car. But ther is a half-ton pickup out there somewhere with a twisted-up gas filler door hanging off the side of it!
Yep some idiots out there are definitely annoying! The ones that really piss me off are the guys who come up to a 4-way stop with no signal on. You are assuming they are going straight through, then after you both start to take off, the idiot throws on the signal as he swerves a left turn right in front of you!
The other thing that gets me mad is the "arrogance" of thinking you are
so ****ing important that you can't be bothered to courteously show other drivers or riders of your intentions to turn or switch lanes!
...TRY ACTUALLY USING YOUR SIGNAL LIGHT!!!!!!!
(For all those stupid new $70,000 SUV buyers that didn't order their vehicle with the optional "signal lever package".... GET THE OPTION!!!! IT'S FREE!)
Vehicle manufacturer's should be
offering "FREE signal light lever option packages" with new vehicle purchases, instead of "free gas for 3 months."
There's my RANT for the day, WHEW!

well, being from los angeles you can imagine riding on the roads here in traffic!!! everybody is in a huge hurry to get where ever. and it seems that everybody except me has the right of way.

I try to rap my pipes at people if they cut me off. a friend of mine always has a few D cell batteries with him, quick flick and your point is made. but with the laws here you would probly be bunking with paris.

I have two simple rules that I live by when motorcycling:

1. No booze or drugs, ever, not once in nearly 30 years
2. I don't fight with cars...I have a simple belief that the law of Gross Tonnage applies...pedestians should yield to bikes, bikes to cars, cars to 18wheelers, 18 wheelers to trains...

I understand your anger and share it...but...I see no future in fighting with cars and, unfortunately, if I opted to shoot every stupid driver on the road my ammo budget would make riding too expensive

Let me suggest you get the license plate number if it happens again and go to the local police and file charges...a private criminal complaint alleging reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person, attempted murder, etc. will get the bimbo's attention in a very quick-like hurry

Regards, Ted

euwwww I like your law thing TMK if only the cops cared it would be nice. I ride in So Cal. and most police don't want to mess with it. The question comes back are you ok? was there any damage to you or your bike? No? Then have a nice day!
