How do I remove the flange from stock pipes? 2 Years, 7 Months ago
Hope somebody can help me out with this. I ordered V and H longshots....arrived with a couple of pieces of hardware missing, but I can probably work that out with a trip to an auto parts store....BUT, we can't figure out how to remove the mounting flange from the stock pipes.....pipes are welded to the shields.....Can someone offer me advice? Probably something really easy that we are missing here.

Thanks
Pablo

The longshots should of had their own flanges.

Thanks for the reply. There were no flanges with the new longshots. There are a few pieces of hardware missing, including the two chrome muffler clamps and a couple of bolts. If the flanges should have come with the pipes, then I need to call Dennis Kirk Company and get them to send them out or send another set of pipes.

I'd be calling them up, never seen a set of pipes that didn't come with flanges on them, I've got a set of Longshots in the garage and they have the flanges on the,. I've also ordered two different sets of exhaust within the last mnth and both came with flanges. BTW, what parts are you missing?

Call Dennis Kirk customer service and give them your order number and tell them everything that is missing. Request they overnight the parts to you or replace the system with a new one and get an RMA number to return the bad system to them.

I am missing the two chrome muffler clamps, a couple of bolts, and of course the flanges.

I had my stock pipes off and was ready to put the new ones on when I realized this...I was just not sure if there was some way to re-use the old flanges.....So, because I am not willing to be without my bike for even one day, I re-installed the old pipes and will start over once I get the right parts to do the job.

I tried to call them today, but of course they are not open on Sunday. I will call right away tomorrow morning and get them to make it right.

Thanks for the advice.
