Sissy bar bag 1 Year, 7 Months ago
I need a large bag to go on the back of my bike. I am going to order the yamaha luggage rack (unless anyone knows anything bad about them or soomething better )

I was thinking about the Kuryakyn Gran Tailgater looks like this has a lot of room and has good reviws except for it sags over the luggage rack. I'am sure i could find a way to stiffen it up a bit though.

Anyone have one? Do you like it?

If you use something else i would like to hear about it as well.

Thanks
Ian

Do a google search for t-bag. You will find ton's of stuff. They velcro strap onto the passenger backrest and will hold a lot of baggage.

You can see mine in my sigpic. I put it on my backseat because I needed to put a cooler on my luggage rack. Usually I put it on my luggage rack.

I already have the yamaha tall backrest on the bike. Just need to get the luggage rack it's self.

I checked out the t bags they look nice also not quite as big though. The old lady will be along for most of the long rides so I need to be able to carry both of our things on one bike.

Ian,
I have the Ultra Tour.It has a ridged plastic liner. The reason I mention it, is I believe the Gran Tailgater does also.I would call Kury and check. As for the bag itself. Very well made, Goes on and off in less than a minute.I have had it loaded with every thing from 4 gallons of oil to groceries. Here is a link with videos. Page 2 has supports.

Thanks Bill

I have never ran into a quality issue with Kuryakyn but i have never bought their bags or luggage before. Glad to hear they are well made also.

Since the topic of luggage racks has come up - is there one that works with the stock backrests or do I need to buy the rack and the rack/backrest brackets at the same time from the same folks?

I prefer to go with the "Beverley Hillbillys" look. I have since learned to pack less for an afternoon ride!
