Right side jockey shift 1 Year, 7 Months ago
While a jockey shift is not for everyone I still find it an alternative. But I'm looking at a right side setup. This would mean running a shaft behind the rear cylinder to a bracket with a short shifter. The issue is where to attach a bracket for the shifter rod etc. I saw a tab on the case but being cast rules that out. Might not come to fruition but I'm still looking into it. BTW, the clutch would remain the same. Only the shifter position would change. Opinions from the experienced?

Hi Guy,
My only concern is it would really slow down you shifts.
I have ridden several jockey shift bikes and there is a certain cool factor, but the are slower and particularly on the throttle side.
Can't help with a position for the pivot rod. Sorry.
Just curious,
John

That's what I'm looking for. The downside, minuses, and "why-the-he!!-you-wanna-do-that-for's".
Figuring out a bracket setup shouldn't too hard.

The way mine is set up is a left side shifter and a foot clutch. I'm not sure what it would be like on the right side. It would definitely slow you down as you would have to take your hand off the throttle completely to shift. In my opinion it would be quite awkward, but you would be able to keep both feet on the ground at lights while still in gear. I think it would slow you way down as compared to running it on the left. I like the idea though.

If you ran the Jockey shift on the LH side, you could run the EFM Auto Clutch so you'd never have to touch the LH bar...

Just an alternative.

It is a mod to convert to a hand shifter.

I can take a pic of mine but I'll have to send it to somebody to post because I have no idea how to do it.
