ColorRite Paint --- Yes or no??? 1 Year, 7 Months ago
Hey I'm gonna be painting my venture saddlebags to match my bike (metallic/liquid silver), and I think I heard that ColorRite is actually the OEM paint manufacturer for Yamaha motorcycles. Is this true? And does anyone have any positive or negative experience using their paint (matching or quality)?? If I don't go with ColorRite, do you think that any good paint shop should be able to match the sparkly metallic look of my bike's paint scheme?

Thanks for any input.

:-DD.

What I have seen (with my own two eyes , but not on my bike) it was an excellent match. It was on Cougars black cherry R* , a touch up from a rock ding , and he pointed it out for me (for reasons I don't remember). BB

My experience is I wish I would have spent the money for the colorite. I trusted what my painter said and the match does not match. No I am contemplating doing a complete repaint....

No experience with bike paint, but colorite makes the paint for Yamaha's outboards as well. I have a rattle can to match my motor and use it to touch up the skeg after each season. It matches perfect and holds up well considering the abuse a skeg takes.

I used Colorite dark blue metallic on my tank, it was a tad darker than the stock paint, but I can live with it...
